Doublebase Once

24hr skin hydration

Product overview

A once daily, highly moisturising and protective emollient gel for the management of dry skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and ichthyosis.

  • Effective when applied once a day - provides 24 hours’ hydration from 1 application.1,2
  • Provides significantly greater and longer-lasting skin hydration than comparator ointments.1,2
  • An effective, easy to apply3 and cosmetically acceptable3 alternative to ointment emollients.
  • In addition to using it as a leave on applied emollient, Doublebase Once can also be used as a soap substitute for washing.

T.A.P.S.
The humectants in Doublebase Once help to hold water in the skin. They also form the Triple Action Protective System (T.A.P.S). In addition to the humectant action which helps to provide at least 24 hours' hydration to protect the skin, it also inhibits microbial growth so that more commonly used preservatives are not required. This may be preferable for those who are particularly sensitive to conventional preservatives.

EVIDENCE

Doublebase Once is an advanced gel formulation that has been shown to be significantly more hydrating than comparator ointments.1,2

Doublebase Once has been shown to achieve greater and longer-lasting skin hydration than comparator ointment EPD* from a single application over 24 hours.1

In a randomised double-blind trial in patients with dry skin comparing Doublebase Once with comparator ointment EPD for 24 hours after a single application: Doublebase Once has been shown to be approximately 2 times more hydrating than EPD, and approximately 4 times more hydrating than no treatment.1

In a blinded randomised comparative ex-vivo human skin study, a single application of Doublebase Once was shown to be significantly more hydrating than two comparator ointments over a 24 hour period.2

A single application of Doublebase Once has been shown to be significantly more hydrating than 3 applications of a comparator emollient cream over 24 hours, in a randomised comparative ex-vivo human skin study.4
